My custom bronze portraits are among the more affordable options you’ll find. I work with a foundry to do the bronze casting, and their cost is included in my pricing. Before I can offer a true estimate, I need a sense of the project’s scope, measurements, etc. in to get an exact quote from the foundry.
Typically the process takes a few months from start to finish.
A live model is always preferred, but if the subject is deceased all you would need to supply are photos and memories. It will be harder to capture the likeness and spirit of a person through photos, but it can be done!
Yes! I love kids so much that I have four of my own.
Typically yes. I will bring all clay and materials, and once the session(s) are complete, I hand-carry the portrait back on the plane and continue the rest of the process from my area.
A custom bronze portrait is created through measurements and live modeling sessions. During the first session, I take photographs for reference and measurements of the model. I then begin the initial sculpting in clay. One session may follow, depending on the needs of the artist and customer. Sessions are typically around two hours. Once the sculpture is complete there will be a final viewing for approval before starting the next steps. During the final session the bronze will be presented with a base of the customer’s choosing.
